Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
3/4 Cup Butter (1.5 sticks), softened
1 Large Egg
1 tbsp Vanilla extract
2 Cups Flour (X g)
1 tsp baking soda (5.6g)
2/3 Cup unsweetened Cocoa power
2 TBS milk
1 1/2 Cups chocolate chips
1 Cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 375 deg F
Combine White Sugar, Brown Sugar and Butter in medium-sized bowl. Blend with a mixer until smooth.
Add Eggs and Vanilla, and continue to mix.
Add flour, baking soda, cocoa, and milk and continue to mix.
Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (optional).
Drop Spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 mins.
note: both the molasses in brown sugar and natural cocoa powder is acidic and necessary to activate the baking soda in this recipe
